VICTOR, Idaho — Teton Valley Foundation is bringing alternative rock with a throwback feel to the stage with a performance by rising regional artists No Such Animal. Based in Utah, No Such Animal is a home recorded rock band consisting of Finn Morrison (frontman, vocals), Max Miller (drums, vocals), Cole Harris (guitar), Ella Morrison (keys) and Seth Jensen (bass). The foursome put energetic riffs and catchy melodies together to create a blend of almost every rock sub-genre.
Fronted by the charismatic Finn Morrison, whose soulful vocals effortlessly navigate the spectrum from raw emotion to infectious energy, the band is a testament to the power of musical synergy. Morrison’s stage presence is magnetic, drawing audiences into the emotive narratives woven through each performance.
The group moved from a solo project led by Morrison to a band in 2021. Morrison told Provo Music Magazine that the urge to go and see live music after such uncertain times gave the group momentum.
“There’s no other way to connect people like music,” Morrison told Michael Luce of Provo Music Magazine. “I like to connect with people, and people who don’t see that as valuable, don’t get very far.”
No Such Animal blends 80s hard rock stylings with the epitome of ’90s rock and power-pops that started the 2000s.
The Entertainer is their latest project, an album about making sense of things in a world of witches, spacemen and cyborgs. Provo Music Magazine said the album is paradoxically grandiose and indulgent while also being vulnerable and intimate.
“[The album] is a fun-fueled emotional journey through what makes rock music so good,” writer Michael Luce says in his article. “From pop to prog, nearly every ‘prefix–rock’ can be found throughout these tracks. The album excellently showcases the range of styles the group dabbles in, though the band has come into their own sonic identity.”
Embrace those inner alternative fan vibes, and get ready to rock the Tetons with No Such Animal.
