VICTOR, Idaho โย With the feels of Leon Russell and The Band, Family Worship Center is an experience like none other. Donโt miss this Thursday, July 16, at Music on Main with the Portland-based psych-soul collective known for their explosive live shows, cult-coded mythology, and sprawling ensemble performances that can swell anywhere from 10 to 18 performers onstage.
Music on Main takes place at Victor City Park. The venue opens at 5 p.m. with local act Easy Chair โ made up of Michael Batdorf, of One Ton Pig, Ted Wells on banjo and pedal steel, and Tom Murphy on mandolin โ taking the stage at 5:45 p.m.
Built around pounding piano, stacked vocal harmonies, horn sections, and groove-heavy arrangements, Family Worship Center has developed a reputation across the Pacific Northwest as one of the regionโs most unpredictable and electrifying live acts.
Troy Nelson, of KEXP, described them as: โtruly the best live band I have seen in years.โ
Originally rooted in a rougher, roots-rock sound somewhere between gospel revival, bar-band soul, and cosmic Americana, the groupโs newest material leans into a softer and stranger world. After years of touring, recording, and eventually backing cult-pop visionary Donnie Emerson, Family Worship Center began drifting toward sun-soaked 1970s rock, warm electric pianos, lush harmonies, laid-back grooves, and widescreen arrangements that feel simultaneously nostalgic and slightly unreal.
According to the bandโs ever-expanding mythology, the songs were recovered from a series of mysterious mid-1970s tapes tied to the same obscure group that inspired the bandโs name. Despite the groupโs tongue-in-cheek aesthetic, the live show feels less like parody and more like genuine celebration โ equal parts rock-and-roll revue and revival.
Music on Main is a donation-based concert series and relies on concession sales. Please no outside alcohol, glass and if possible, please support our robust food court filled with local vendors and nonalcoholic options before packing a picnic, as we do our best to support local businesses and nonprofits with community supported music. For shuttle schedule and more information, please visit TetonValleyFoundation.org. Service dogs are welcome; all other furry friends need to stay home.
Considered a summer bucket list item for both sides of the Tetons, Music on Main is generously presented by the Shefter Family Foundation and strives to bring national acts to local audiences free of charge.
A suggested $5 donation each week is encouraged by all attendees to keep the concerts donation-based. Regularly voted Best Of, the 2026 concerts started on June 18 and run through Aug. 13 at Victor City Park.
