JACKSON, Wyo — Now an annual event in Jackson Hole, the idea for Alex’s Table: Jackson Hole was born out of a chance meeting between Gavin Fine and Kristin Kelly over fried chicken sandwiches at the Bodega food truck. Through this initial meeting, Fine and Kelly discovered a common interest – support for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) – a national non-profit dedicated to pediatric cancer initiatives.
Talks of “we should” quickly turned to “we will” as the pair partnered together to host the first event in 2017, a seated dinner with guest chef Marc Vetri at the Kelly’s home in Teton Village.
Since then, $915,000 has been raised for ALSF through the Jackson Hole events alone. This year, hosts Fine Dining Restaurant Group, the Kelly family and the Balyasny family hope to well surpass the $1 million mark.
While the format of the event has changed throughout the years, particularly in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, the show has continued. This year’s event will take place on Sept. 21 and showcase a progressive-style dinner along Center Street, starting with drinks and apps at Kampai. The event will continue across the street to The Cloudveil rooftop for more cocktails and bites, followed by a multicourse, paired dinner on the rooftop.
James Beard Award-winning Chefs Marc Vetri (Philadelphia) and Chris Bianco (Phoenix, L.A.) will bring their world-class cooking to this year’s event, while Fine, chef Chris Massad (Kampai) and chef Samantha Taylor (Wander) will add the Jackson Hole flavor. Tickets are $375 each and will benefit ALSF. To purchase tickets or to make a donation, click here.
Why ALSF?
Each day, over 1,000 children are diagnosed with cancer. Alexandra “Alex” Scott, was one of those children. Inspired to help kids with cancer just like her, Alex was just four years old when set up her first lemonade stand, raising $2,000 and donating that money directly to “her hospital.” As Alex continued to host lemonade stands, word spread and she was joined by people across the world who did the same, donating their earnings to help Alex’s cause. When Alex died at the age of eight, she had helped raise over $1 million for pediatric cancer research.
Now led by Alex’s parents, ALSF continues to raise money to fund impactful research, raise awareness, support families and empower everyone to help cure childhood cancer. Funds raised through ALSF have and will continue to benefit children across our country, including families in our own Jackson Hole community. Whether it’s paying for travel necessary to receive treatment or funding important research, ALSF’s reach is large and impactful.
