JACKSON, Wyo. — Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) will be  hosting a TSA PreCheck enrollment event in collaboration with IDEMIA, a TSA PreCheck authorized enrollment provider, from Tuesday, Feb. 4, to Friday, Feb. 7.

TSA PreCheck was created in December 2011 as a way to provide low-risk travelers with a smoother, time-saving experience through airport security. Enrolled members do not need to remove shoes, laptops, 3-1-1 liquids, belts or light jackets. They also access TSA PreCheck dedicated screening lanes at over 200 participating U.S. airports nationwide.

Travelers will be able to enroll at 1250 E. Airport Road, Jackson, Wyoming 83001 between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The event will take place in the south end of the Airport terminal, adjacent to baggage claim area, near the short-term parking exit. Applicants can enter through the baggage claim area or near the short-term parking lot.

According to a press release, the enrollment process is quick, convenient and even faster when the application is completed online beforehand. Making an appointment is encouraged and walk-ins should expect wait times.

The in-person enrollment requires that applicants provide proof of identity, proof of citizenship, fingerprints and a photo. IDEMIA offers TSA PreCheck enrollment for $78 and, if approved, travelers get a five-year membership with the program.

This event will not include Global Entry program enrollment.

The program is open to U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals and lawful permanent residents. Following the in-person enrollment appointment, most applicants receive their Known Traveler Number (KTN) in about three to five days. The KTN number must be added to flight reservations to enjoy TSA PreCheck benefits.

“Based on the strong response to last winter’s sign up, we have been working to coordinate another sign up opportunity for Jackson Hole residents,” Jim Elwood, Airport director, said in the press release. “The Airport is glad to be able to offer the local sign up week again this winter. Having TSA PreCheck helps make the security screening process easier, especially at larger airports across the U.S.”

Those unable to make the Jackson Hole Airport enrollment event but still interested in enrolling in TSA PreCheck can complete the application online and schedule an appointment at one of the 550+ enrollment centers nationwide.
