A note from Jeff Rice, owner, Jackson Whole Grocer:

To our Jackson Whole Grocer Customers and Community,

By now you have likely heard our news that Jackson Whole Grocer has entered into an agreement to be acquired by Whole Foods Market. The transaction is now complete and our last day of operating independently as Jackson Whole Grocer was February 23, 2021.

For over 10 years I have had the honor and good fortune to steward Jackson Whole Grocer.   We set out with the mission of “creating and sharing the JWG experience, serving the community, caring for each other, and doing our part to be good stewards of the planet.”  With the support of our incredible team, loyal customers, local vendors, and highly committed community partners like Hole Food Rescue and System of Care, we were able to see our mission through.   I have truly enjoyed our work and serving the community.  I will always be grateful for your support, patronage, and friendship.

To the JWG team, it has been a privilege to serve alongside you for more than a decade.  Thank you for placing your trust in me and giving so much of yourselves to our mission.  Together we shared so much….from the joys of delighting customers with amazing service during the hustle and bustle of the holidays (it really is fun!), to the pleasure of giving to those in need through collaboration with Hole Food Rescue, to the grind of all night inventory counts and managing over 500 vendors, to the good fun of breaking sales records time and time again.  I will always cherish our shared memories.  You have moved mountains and nourished and served a community at a level rarely achieved in the grocery business.  Simply, be proud, you deserve to be.

A look forward…we are fortunate to have this opportunity with Whole Foods Market, a company that prioritizes supporting its team and the local communities it serves.  I am confident that our team and community will greatly benefit from the working and shopping experience that Whole Foods Market offers.   Please note that the store will remain open as it transitions to a Whole Foods Market store.

With much gratitude,

Jeff Rice
