ALPINE, Wyo. — In addition to the services patients have come to expect from Star Valley Health’s Alpine clinic, beginning in January, they’ll have access to even more care. Along with the primary care and urgent care services SVH already offers, the expanded clinic will include a 24/7 emergency room, same-day surgery center, and an outpatient cardiac cath lab.

SVH’s 24/7 emergency care “will include all the services of a hospital ER, right down to the ability to land a helicopter,” says Mike Hunsaker, senior vice president of business development. “It really fits our community in terms of access to care and the immediacy of being able to get patients to a higher level of care if needed.”

Public open house

Join SVH for a public open house from 10 a.m. to noon on January 11, 2025. Meet the team, tour the facility, and enjoy a light refreshment.

Available procedures

Here are just some of the procedures patients will soon be able to schedule in Alpine:

  • Angiogram
  • Cardiac catheterization
  • Pacemaker implantation
  • Carpal tunnel release
  • Trigger finger release
  • Ulnar nerve release
  • Rotator cuff repair
  • Shoulder arthroscopy
  • Other outpatient upperextremity surgeries
  • Shoulder replacement (arthroplasty)
  • Colonoscopy
  • Endoscopy
  • Pain management procedures

Board-certified ER physicians

The emergency room will be staffed with board certified emergency room physicians 24/7. It will provide emergency care for everything from heart attacks and strokes to abdominal pain and serious infections.

One convenient location

The same-day surgery center will offer a variety of outpatient procedures. At the same time, the cardiac cath lab will provide advanced diagnostic and treatment options for cardiac patients, all in one convenient location.

Patient transfer benefit

There will be no overnight stays at the Alpine clinic. For patients who come to the emergency room or same-day surgery center and require overnight care, Star Valley EMS will transport them to SVH’s Afton location for inpatient care at no cost to the patient.

“It’s our way to ensure you get the care you need without the added stress,” SVH said.

Thank you, donors!

SVH extends its heartfelt thanks to its many generous donors. Community giving for the Alpine expansion totaled more than $400,000 and was matched by the Star Valley Health Charitable foundation, for a total donation of $839,000
