JACKSON, Wyo. — The Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board (JHTTB) has launched a new worldwide marketing campaign highlighting six locals chosen to embody the idea of staying young by staying wild.

JHTTB’s “Mountain of Youth” campaign is designed to invite visitors to the area from all over the world, while aligning with Jackson’s Sustainable Destination Management Plan and “showcasing community values,” according to the agency.

The campaign will be a multi-year effort in responsible destination marketing, featuring more locals as it evolves. The community members are featured in short YouTube videos. It is unclear from the press release how these community members were selected.

“Both implicitly and explicitly throughout the campaign, visitors are asked to be
protectors and stewards of these lands,” JHTTB Exec. Director Crista Valentino said in a statement. “The Mountain of Youth requires reciprocity — receiving from the land and community, and giving back in return.”

Six locals are featured in the first round of marketing, introduced as such:

  • Bill Briggs, 91, local legend, first person to ski the Grand Teton and musician.
  • Jane Golliher, 73, fourth generation Jackson Hole rancher from Diamond Cross Ranch.
  • Bryan Iguchi, 50, professional snowboarder and artist.
  • Zahan Billimoria, 46, professional climber, advocate and mountain guide.
  • Leslie Steen, 43, angler and conservationist.
  • Kira Brazinski, 31, skier and yogi.
