JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Young Life Jackson Hole hosts its annual holiday ‘funraiser’ tonight at the Pink Garter. The Mr. Christmas Tree Pageant is put on all over the country by local chapters of the nonprofit teen organization.
Mr. Christmas Tree Pageant is a chance to see your classmates in a way you may have not imagined. One guy from each high school class competes for the title of “Mr. Christmas Tree.” Decked out in holiday tinsel, roller skating, dancing, rapping—you’ll see a little of everything during the talent show portion of the evening.
In addition to the talent competition, there is a grueling interview and the Parade of Trees. In the end, only one lucky(?) young man will be crowned “Mr. Christmas Tree” tonight. Will it be someone you know? Bring your camera.
“Expect the unexpected,” Alli Lane said. She is the area director of Young Life Jackson Hole. “Being a teenager in Jackson is really tough, Young Life focuses on what matters to teenagers: fun, adventure, friendship and a sense of significance.”
YLJH will also be offering a reduced rate to sign up for its summer camp program, tonight only. After the event is complete, all high schoolers will have the opportunity to register for ‘the best week of their life’ on the Young Life Summer Trip and get $100 off. This year, the trip will be to Frontier Ranch in Beuna Vista, Colorado from July 29-Aug 5, 2018. Last year the trip sold out in one night.
The fun begins at 7:07pm at the Pink Garter Theatre. The event is free and open to the community.
