JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Teton Gravity Research didn’t have far to look when it scrambled to find a replacement for a last-minute cancellation of a skier who was supposed to be filmed shredding in Jackson Hole for a Far Out shoot.

TGR cofounder Todd Jones suggested his kid, Kai, at a company board meeting. When the cameras rolled, a star was born.

Kai Jones, 11, ripped everything film crews put in front of him at JHMR with Tim Durtschi alongside. The footage was used as part of TGR’s Far Out and one thing is evident: this kid’s on the way to a promising skiing career.

Jones shares, “I always say to myself, ‘How far can I push it and not make my mom scared?’”

Mom might want to cover her eyes on a few of the runs Jones makes on Far Out. But the big mountain athlete is already displaying the skills and the mindset shared by the best powder skiers.

“Time slows down and you are thinking about only that moment,” Jones says in the short promotional TGR video.
