YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — Yellowstone National Park (YNP) announced Friday that the road between Tower Junction and Mammoth Hot Springs would close from 11 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 11 to 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12 while crews remove debris from a traffic collision.
According to YNP, on Monday, Aug. 28, a cement truck rolled off the road and collided with a minivan near Tower Junction. The minivan’s passengers were extricated from the car and moved to safety. Crews removed parts of the cement truck from the scene, but the drum of the truck was weighed down with hardened cement and required special equipment to move.
All lanes of travel will be closed while specialized crews remove the cement drum.
