YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — Yellowstone National Park (YNP) has announced the temporary closure of the West Entrance Road as of 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30.
The “urgent” closure will block traffic between the West Entrance and Madison Junction for 45 minutes, according to YNP. Crews will be repairing a hole in the roadway of Seven Mile Bridge, which lies seven miles east of the West Entrance. Visitors will be able to access to the Madison Campground during this time.
YNP shared that the hole is approximately 2.5 feet wide and “developed unexpectedly.”
