DRIGGS, Idaho — Yeehaw!
Skijoring teams descended on Teton Valley for its annual Skijoring competition, with approximately 150 teams competing for purse prizes and belt buckles. Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer was there to bear witness.
Skijoring teams require two humans and one horse: one person rides the horse through the designated course, towing a skier or snowboarder over ramps and obstacles. The sport is believed to have evolved from the Scandinavian transportation method of strapping a harness to a reindeer and skiing behind it for long distances.
