JACKSON, Wyo. — Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer spotted this red fox on a successful hunting outing last week.

Foxes are excellent hunters, known for their impeccable eyesight, hearing and sense of smell.

According to the National Park Service, red foxes primarily feast on voles and mice. Since these rodents are more active during the day in winter, when their tunnels are covered by feet of snow, foxes do more daytime hunting in the winter. Keep an eye out for the red fox all over Jackson Hole.
