JACKSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Cowboys “Steamboat” logo has been voted best college sports logo in the United States from a voting competition through “College Sports Logos” on Twitter.
“Wyoming is our champion,” College Sports Logos stated on Twitter on Monday. “To them, it’s not just a logo but a way of life.”
Wyoming’s logo faced off against the South Dakota State Jackrabbits logo in the championship round of the voting competition. Wyoming’s bucking horse and rider logo beat the SDSU logo in voting tallies, totaling 52.9% of the vote.
The voting competition was modeled after NCAA Basketball’s “March Madness” spring tournaments, which were canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19 coronavirus.
UW’s logo bested Brigham Young University, North Dakota State University, Boise State University, San Jose State University and Creighton University in rounds leading up to the championship.
