Wyoming Arts Council announces innovation award for art educators

WYOMING — The Wyoming Arts Council (WAC) established an award to promote awareness and appreciation of arts educators by recognizing their creativity, talent, and leadership in education.

The Arts Learning Innovations award will distinguish Wyoming arts educators in all artistic disciplines and will celebrate a Wyoming K-12 art educator who is utilizing new and innovative ways to incorporate arts in their classroom or in an online environment.

Established in partnership with the Wyoming Department of Education, the Wyoming Innovations in Learning conference will be held virtually in November. The conference will honor outstanding educators that are incorporating digital learning into their work.

As a supporter and partner in arts education, WAC says they are dedicated to making the arts fundamental to education by supporting programs that serve all Wyoming students.

They are now accepting nominations for this award. Wyoming licensed and certified arts educators in any art discipline – theater, dance, visual, literary and performing arts are eligible. Anyone is welcome to submit a nomination and educators that meet the criteria may nominate themselves. Applications are due by Sept. 4, 2020.

Nominations are submitted through the online nomination form located on the Wyoming Arts Council website. The form can also be downloaded here. For those nominations that are not completed online, please email completed nomination forms. Members of the Wyoming Arts Council and Wyoming Arts Council board will select the recipient of this award.

The recipient of this award will be notified by the Wyoming Arts Council and will be given registration to attend the 2020 Wyoming Innovations in Learning Virtual Conference, Nov. 5, where they will be recognized during the awards ceremony.
