JACKSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has announced that roadside geotechnical drilling work will take place along US191 through Hoback Canyon beginning on Monday, June 10. The subsurface research is part of investigating a proposed wildlife crossing site.

According to WYDOT, staff from Jorgensen Associates, Inc., will drill boreholes along the road’s shoulder from June 10 through June 14. Delays or weather impacts might extend the work into the following week, the agency said. Single lane closures are expected, with traffic controlled by flaggers as crews and equipment are mobilized.

Work will be conducted between mileposts 158 and 162, from east of Hoback Junction to Stinking Springs.

“Drivers are advised to expect up to 20-minute delays during daytime hours,” WYDOT’s announcement said. “Traffic impacts will vary each day.”

WYDOT encourages drivers to plan their travel accordingly.
