JACKSON, Wyo. — Local voters are invited to attend a virtual forum introducing Teton County Commission and Jackson Mayor candidates on Tuesday, August 11 from noon-1 p.m.
The forum, which will be hosted by the Rotary Club JH and Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce, will allow candidates to speak to their platforms before beginning a moderated Q&A session.
Michael Kudar, a noticeable write-in candidate, will be introduced for the mayoral seat in next week’s primary election. The Jackson native, businessman and civic steward will be ready to speak his mind about Jackson’s most pressing problems.
“If you are like me, I have been frustrated with the town government’s leadership,” said Kudar when asked why he is running. “When my opponent was running unchallenged, I could not sit on the sidelines. I knew this was my time to serve. For the last 20 years, I’ve been in training to serve in this role. I have the time, the energy and a strong will to face the tough times ahead.”
Kudar believes he is better equipped to positively influence solutions with private-public partnerships while preserving the Jackson way of life.
“When you go down neighboring streets and along businesses, you see ‘Write-In Michael Kudar For Mayor’ signs popping up all over town,” Kudar said. “I’m getting four, five six calls or emails every day from people who want signs because they believe in what I’ll bring to the table.”
Kudar understands signs can feel like a distraction, but they remind Jackson residents to get out and vote. As a write-in candidate for mayor, you will not see his name on the primary ballot on August 18. What you will see instead is an open write-in line.
If Kudar earns your vote, one must take hand-to-pen and write-in “Michael Kudar” on the blank write-in line and blacken the oval to the left of his written name.
