JACKSON HOLE, WYO – As a result of bank stabilization work being done in the vicinity of Spread Creek off US Highway 26/89/187, motorists can expect up to 15-minute traffic delays between 7am-7pm through the fall.

Spread Creek is about four miles south of Moran Junction.

Work is happening outside the roadway but delays will primarily occur when materials and equipment are loaded or unloaded. Delays may begin as early as tomorrow.

The work is Phase 2 of the Spread Creek Fish Passage project designed to prevent future losses of migratory cutthroat trout to the Spread Creek system by installing a fish screen that returns entrained fish to Spread Creek and by stabilizing the diversion structure (which was damaged by flooding in 2011).

The project is a joint effort between the forest, park, and Trout Unlimited’s Wyoming Water Project—opening up over 50 miles of Spread Creek to migratory Snake River cutthroat trout for the first time in over 50 years.
