TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — Make the holiday season extra special with fun family events from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and the Teton Village Association during this year’s WinterFest from Saturday, Dec. 17 through Dec. 31.

Take a look at all the free events to celebrate the holiday season:

Dec. 17: Teton Village Christmas Lighting and Shop & Sip

Enjoy complimentary festive cocktails tastings from Jackson Hole Stillworks and Wyoming Whiskey at JH Sports and Teton Village Sports from 4-7 p.m. With amazing ski and snowboard gear, apparel, and accessories, TVS and JHS have all of your holiday shopping needs covered this season. A purchase at each location (TVS, JHS and Rodeo), gives participants the chance to enter to win a half-day private lesson!

Watch Teton Village come to life with the lighting of the Commons Christmas Tree and GLOW Nights and join in on holiday songs with carolers. This year’s GLOWNights exhibit titled, Light a Wish by OGE Group, features nature-inspired installations that will light up Teton Village all month long.

Christmas lighting will begin at 5 p.m. in the Village Commons

Dec. 18: Family Scavenger Hunt

Dec. 19 + 26: Snow Cats & Avalanche Dogs

A behind-the-scenes look at the resort’s coolest stuff. Everybody wants to meet an avalanche dog and handler, then you mix that with a tour of a snow cat and you’ve covered it all – big trucks, cool dogs, safety first.

Join us at the Kid’s Ranch from 4-5 p.m. for an afternoon of fun!

Dec. 20 + 27: Raptor Night

Hawks, Eagles, Owls and Falcons take the center stage. Experience an incredible, up-close learning opportunity with live birds of prey presented by the Teton Raptor Center from 4-5 p.m. in the Olympic Sports Plaza’s Olympic Room.

Dec. 21 + 29: Free Skate Night

Enjoy ice skating on the Teton Village Commons skating rink from 4-5 p.m. Offering free skate rentals for this special occasion or you can bring your own. Grab the family and join us for a night of gliding around under the Wyoming winter sky!

Dec. 22: Family Scavenger Hunt

Dec. 23: Wyoming Stargazing Planetarium

Jackson Hole has amazing night skies full of bright stars. The Wyoming Stargazing Digital Planetarium System brings the Universe right to your fingertips. Astronomers will show you detailed drawings of all the constellations, give you tips on how to find them in the night sky, and animate their motion so you can see how they change throughout the night and during the course of a year. You will also see the planets and other objects visible to the naked eye this time of year. Then, you’ll fly through the Solar System and zoom in to amazing detail on planets, moons, and comets. Next, you will get to explore deep space and check out galaxies, globular clusters, nebulae, and more.

Check out the digital planetarium from 4-6 p.m. at Snake River Lodge in Teton Village.

Dec. 24: Skate with Santa, Santa Drops from the Tram / Sing-a-long Caroling

The magic of Santa Jackson Hole Style, this is not your usual sleigh arrival for the holiday star. Join us at 3 p.m. to ice skate with Santa on Teton Village’s ice-skating rink! There are skate rentals, or you’re welcome to bring your own. Head over to the Tram dock around 4:30 p.m. for a very exciting arrival and welcome the holiday season right! Please bring any last-minute letters for Santa Claus. There will be a box for kids to drop their letters into located by the Tram.

  • Skate: 3-4 p.m. Village commons
  • Santa Drops/Caroling: 4:30 p.m. Back Tram Dock

Dec. 25: Ski/Ride with Santa

Santa is a pretty solid intermediate skier these days thanks to our friends at the Mountain Sports School! Seek him out on around Teewinot and the base of the Gondolas around 10 a.m., or find him on the hill afterward on Après Vous and Casper! He’ll be skiing around until 12 p.m.

Dec. 28: Family Après at Solitude Station

Après for the whole family from 4-5:30 p.m. at Solitude Station. Kids will enjoy cocoa and cookies with a showing of a holiday movie. Adults are invited to relax with specialty cocktails and apps while checking out the beautiful Solitude Station, now open for all to enjoy. Leave the skis behind and hop on Sweetwater Gondola, participants will not be permitted to ski down from Solitude Station after 4 p.m.

Dec. 30: Kids Night Out

Parents and Kids just want to have fun and celebrate the holidays, but sometimes it’s not the same kind of fun. If you are looking to have an adult night out but feel bad for leaving the kiddos behind, don’t! They can have fun too at Kids Night Out with the Kids Ranch staff. The night includes games, outdoor sledding, and even a pizza party! Let them get wound up with the counselors, then chill out with a movie and bean bags just in time for you to swing in.

  • Free, but reservations required at a JHMR sales location
  • Reservations available until 4 p.m. on 12/30, or until full
  • 5-12 yrs old

Dec. 31: NYE Fireworks, Torchlight and Glow Worm Parade

Calling all kids! This New Years’ tradition substitutes glow sticks for torch lights. We will load the Sweetwater Gondola from 4:45-5:15 p.m. and the parade will start at 5:30 p.m. Kids will finish at the base of Sweetwater Gondola. Come dressed in skis and boots (no poles please). Participation is free and sign-up is not required. Parents are not required to accompany skiers but are welcome to join.

The classic Torchlight Parade will begin at 7 p.m. with fireworks directly to follow and fireworks will follow. Ring in the New Year in classic mountain tradition!
