JACKSON, Wyo. — Heads up! Winter weather might impact drivers today.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a winter weather advisory just after midnight affecting the Teton, Gros Ventre, western Wind River, Salt River and Wyoming mountain ranges, in effect until 5 p.m.

NWS forecasts “additional snow accumulations up to 6 inches with higher amounts of 8 to 10 inches across the higher western-facing peaks” along with “winds gusting as high as 35 mph at times.”

The agency warns of hazardous driving conditions over Teton Pass, Togwotee Pass and Salt River Pass. NWS advises slowing down and using caution when traveling. Keep an eye on Teton Pass conditions as the weather evolves here. Remember these tips for driving in winter weather on the Pass.
