JACKSON, Wyo. — The National Weather Service’s Riverton office has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for northwestern Wyoming, in effect beginning at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16.

The advisory applies to Yellowstone National Park and the Teton and Gros Ventre mountain ranges. Snow accumulations are expected to the tune of 6 to 8 inches, with up to 10 inches expected in the Tetons’ higher elevations. Wind gusts could reach 35 mph.

“Travel could be very difficult over Teton and Togwotee Passes,” the advisory reads. “The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling.”
