UPDATE 9 p.m. Feb. 26: WYDOT has lifted the advisory. Roads around Jackson remain slick with snowfall.

JACKSON, Wyo. — Officials from the Wyoming Department of Transporation and the National Park Service have issued no unnecessary travel between Moose and Moran.

NPS said that conditions are a complete whiteout between Moose and the Snake River Overlook. Denise Germann, spokesperson for Grand Teton National Park said that the travel advisory may be in place all night.

No unnecessary travel means that the road is open but travel is not recommended due to hazardous driving conditions. Generally, the advisory is posted during winter months due to extremely icy conditions, when visibility is limited due to blowing snow, or when a combination of conditions makes travel ill-advised.

WYDOT says that “Drivers who attempt such travel should be familiar with local conditions and be very experienced with winter driving.”

A winter storm warning is in effect from now through tomorrow morning. Other highways around Jackson remain slick with snowfall.
