JACKSON HOLE, WYO –The Annual Winter Solstice Celebration at Rendezvous Park (R Park) is set for December 20. The community is invited to celebrate the shortest day and longest night of the year at R Park on December 20 from 5-8pm.

This ought to end well. Come out for Winter Solstice and try out some sledding…or snow surfing. (R Park, JH Land Trust)

Festivities this year will include family-friendly Junior Ranger activities, glow-in-the-dark bocce, holiday carols, and a warm bonfire. R Park’s pathways will be lit with ambient Swedish fire torches, and sledding is always encouraged.

Enjoy complimentary seasonal beverages, warm chili and cornbread, and mac ’n’ cheese—served by Genevieve Catering.  Jackson Hole Stillworks is sure to put you in the holiday spirit with a $5 specialty holiday cocktail.

“We are excited to host our annual celebration for the Jackson community. As always, we encourage community members of all ages and backgrounds to come join the festivities and enjoy the outdoor fun that R Park offers during the winter months,” said Jr Rodriguez, JHLT Community Conservation Manager/R Park Director. “Winter at R Park is a magical time of year, especially on the Winter Solstice. The sledding is incredible, animal tracks are easily seen, and, for the brave, the ponds are frozen for skating.”

Visitors are encouraged to park at the Stilson Lot from which a complimentary shuttle will be running to-and-from R Park throughout the event.

Adult volunteers are always needed. If you would like to volunteer or learn more, contact Ellie Stratton-Brook at 307-733-4707 or ellie@jhlandtrust.org.
