WILSON, Wyo. — Four local musicians will take the stage at the Old Wilson Schoolhouse on Saturday to display their style at a second musical showcase event.
The Songwriter Showcase will return to the Old Wilson Schoolhouse Community Center on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. Local keyboard player for Chanman Roots Band and songwriter Susan Jones will once again present the musical lineup. The free, family-friendly program, supported in part by a grant from the Wyoming Arts Council, originally debuted in March.
The event description states that the location is an “intimate and unique music venue, offering an unforgettable experience.”
The musicians included in Saturday’s lineup include Melissa Elliot, Clay Humphrey, Tori Lund and Justin Smith.
- Elliot, born and raised in Jackson, performs under the alias “Missy Jo.” She is a music teacher, singer and songwriter whose style is a collage of influences. Her songs delve into observations on the human experience.
- Humphrey, born and raised in Jackson, is a songwriter and plays multiple instruments. Making music since he was 11, and writing since he was 14, Humphrey teaches private lessons at Teton Music School and performs with Cache Funk locally.
- Lund, originally from Los Angeles, is a singer, songwriter and yoga instructor who blends music and mindfulness. Over her time in music, she has gravitated toward roots-driven style. She is currently working on her first solo EP, set to be released in 2026.
- Smith, an impactful member of the local music scene for over three decades, is a singer, songwriter, producer, band manager, sound engineer, music educator and more. He has been a founding member and songwriter for multiple local bands, including Sister Smith, Mandatory Air and One Ton Pig. In 2016, he released solo album Sprinklers in the Rain.
