Wildly Creative: Meet Bland Hoke Buckrail - Jackson Hole, news

For local young designer Bland Hoke, no idea is too grand.

His projects are born of bottomless curiosity and a global mission to inspire. His sculpture (in collaboration with Terry Chambers and Shane Lindsey) “Arrival Over the Snake” is the first piece of art that greets visitors at Jackson Hole Airport. Combining a unique background in public art with a love of the outdoors and cutting-edge urban design, Bland embodies the spirit of Wildly Creative Jackson Hole.

Bland thrives on building thoughtful public places, developing temporary artwork and designing a variety of projects that feature hammocks. His process is a direct response to places and people, marked by a true understanding of contemporary design and a signature resourcefulness, courtesy of his Western roots.

Bland has received an Innovation by Design award from Fast Company, presented at Design INDABA in Cape Town, South Africa and recently installed a glowing ice wall at Teton Village. He works as the Staff Artist at Jackson Hole Public Art, and is the manager of Bland Design LLC. See more of his work at BlandHoke.com.
