JACKSON, WY— It’s a common theme among Jackson’s local artists and creatives: the wild spaces in which they create inspire their work. It’s why many migrate here in the first place, and why local artists chose to stay. They live at the intersection of “wild” and “creative,” and those lines are frequently blurred.
It’s such a shared experience that the Center for the Arts and Center of Wonder teamed up to launch a campaign around it: Wildly Creative, a collaborative arts awareness campaign produced in partnership with the Jackson Hole Travel & Tourism Board.
The project is two-fold: for creative individuals and organizations, it offers a platform upon which they can highlight their work. For the TTB and Jackson visitors, it positions Jackson as a uniquely creative community and destination.
Indeed, the cultural impacts of the arts community are countless, but the financial contributions are equally as noteworthy. The nonprofits arts and culture sector generates $51.2 million in total economic activity each year, according to a recent study by Americans for the Arts.
“Wildly Creative is shining a spotlight on many of the creative leaders that are the crux of our community,” said Center for the Arts Marketing Director Anne Bradley.
The campaign will work closely with more than two dozen local nonprofit and for-profit arts and cultural partners to really communicate the community’s dynamic arts scene. Efforts include an Instagram influencer program, print and digital ads, marketing workshops for members of the arts community, and video shorts profiling local creatives. Jackson-based New Thought Digital Agency has been leading input sessions and creating campaign elements.
“Jackson’s arts community encompasses so many creatives working in diverse disciplines that we knew we had to include input and collaboration on the campaign from many perspectives,” said Kirsten Corbett, Arts Communications for Center of Wonder. “We created an advisory team of representatives, which we anticipate will only keep growing.”
Art is a crucial marketing tool—every word, photograph, and design that goes into marketing campaigns are works of art. But in Jackson, the arts are also testament to the vibrant culture that calls Jackson home. Art in any form helps paint (sometimes literally) a more holistic and all-encompassing picture of the community.
“The Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board is thrilled to support the Center for the Arts and Center of Wonder in the creation and release of the Wildly Creative Campaign,” said TTB Executive Director Kate Sollitt. “Through a collaborative effort with the arts community, they were able to capture the essence and importance of arts and culture in Jackson while aligning with the STAY WILD destination brand campaign. Wildly Creative elevates the arts messaging and will help drive visitation to Jackson during the shoulder season for reasons beyond adventure and nature, and truly round out the guest experience.”
