JACKSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) invites the public to an engagement meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 4, to discuss potential changes to fishing regulations on Jackson Lake.
The meeting will take place at the Jackson Regional Office on 420 N. Cache St. from 6 to 8 p.m.
Under current regulations, fishing on Jackson Lake is prohibited from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31. During the meeting, community members can learn about the history of this regulation and why it could no longer be necessary, according to the WGFD.
Staff from the Jackson Region will also share results from a recent angler survey.
“The survey and meeting will help fisheries managers assess public interest in alternative management strategies and gather additional input before finalizing a new regulation proposal, which will be presented to the Game and Fish Commission later this year,” the WGFD said via press release.
