“This year’s Wyoming Wildlife photo issue was phenomenal due to the vast number of high-quality images submitted by the public participants in our 2025 Annual Photo Contest,” said Wyoming Wildlife Creative Director Patrick Owen. “We’d like to thank all participants because it is an honor and remarkable experience viewing all of your photo entries. The judging panel is always forced to make tough decisions in selecting winners and honorable mentions.”

The contest named a winner for the front cover and for the back cover, then awarded first, second and third in the following categories: wildlife, scenic, recreation and flora. Many photo submissions were taken in Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Quite a few local residents received honorable mentions for their photographs. Karyn Schiller, of Jackson, was awarded second place in the wildlife category for the photo “Majesty in motion,” and Frances Clark, of Wilson, received third place in the flora category for “Sundews stand ready.”

Schiller has frequently contributed photos to Buckrail over the years. See WGFD’s video to view all of the winners and honorable mentions in the photo contest.
