We’re on the southern fringe of a storm system bringing much heavier snow to the Pacific Northwest and BC Rockies, with only light snow showers and flurries for Jackson Hole. Temperatures warmed up overnight and Friday will have a milder feel to it with morning temperatures in the upper 20s in the valley, rising into the upper 30s for highs Friday afternoon. Skies will remain cloudy through the morning with occasional snow showers/flurries, but any accumulations will be minimal with skies beginning to clear in the afternoon. Mountain temperatures at 9,000 ft. will reach the low to mid 20s for highs Friday afternoon with moderate winds out of the west/southwest.
For the weekend, conditions will dry out with mostly sunny skies on Saturday and a mix of sun and high clouds on Sunday. Temperatures are a little tricky since inversions will be developing again, but without any cold fronts arriving beforehand, it will not be as cold as earlier in the week. Generally, I expect highs Saturday and Sunday to be in the 20s in the valley with lows in the single digits above zero, while temperatures at 9,000 ft should rise into the low 30s both days.
On Monday, temperatures will warm up into the mid 30s in the valley ahead of a weak system that should bring some light snow to the area on Monday night or Tuesday. Light snow chances will continue into Christmas Day on Wednesday with a gradual cooling trend.
