Vandalism incidents on the rise

SUBLETTE COUNTY, Wyo. – Perhaps it is an unfortunate by-product of sequestering at home with few opportunities to get out of the house and return to normal activities. But authorities around the region are noting an increase in vandalism incidents that are frustrating to investigate.

A Forest Service road grader was trashed outside of Heise, Idaho late last month. Popular climbing area in Idaho—Camp Rock at City of Rocks—was also graffiti’d in April.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public assistance on a vandalism case of its own. Sometime in between April 29 and May 1 a camp trailer was vandalized in the Warren Bridge Recreation Area north of Pinedale. Investigators are hoping someone saw something or knows something about the incident.

The BLM (Bureau of Land Management) has secured a $1,500 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person responsible. Anyone with information about this incident please contact the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office (307) 367-4378.
