Are you ready for some funk? A noteworthy band on the rise with a growing, avid following, Brooklyn-based Turkuaz is bringing the good times to the Victor City Park stage. The nine members of Turkuaz produce an energetic cornucopia of sounds: funk, alternative, rock, R&B, and psychedelic, to name a few. Turkuaz is known for balancing male-female harmonies, strutting guitars, wild horn arrangements, and interminable grooves, while their spirit takes shape in the color donned by each respective member on stage nightly via larger-than-life performances.

The nonet includes Dave Brandwein [guitar, vocals], Taylor Shell [bass], Craig Brodhead [guitar, keys], Michelangelo Carubba [drums], Chris Brouwers [trumpet, keys], Greg Sanderson [tenor sax], Josh Schwartz [baritone sax, vocals], Sammi Garett [vocals], and Shira Elias [vocals]. They ignite an explosion of energy punctuated by neon hues, deft musicality, and show-stopping singalongs on their fifth full-length album, Life In The City.

Since emerging in 2011, Turkuaz has toured across the country supporting their four full-length studio albums and three official live releases. Their 2015 album Digitorium produced fan-favorite songs “Nightswimming” and “European Festivity Nightmare” and their latest album, Life In the City, is a more collaborative, exploratory body of work based on modern life and everyday distractions. Fans have been captivated by their kaleidoscope of sounds and styles at renowned festivals like Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, Mountain Jam, and Telluride Jazz. They’ve also performed at legendary spots from Colorado’s Red Rocks to San Francisco’s The Fillmore.
