Travel advisories include avalanche potential, Pass closure in early AM

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Authorities are alerting motorists and all others in the valley to be aware of heightened avalanche conditions for the next few days.

Incoming winter weather over the next several days will create dangerous avalanche conditions above the roadways in the Jackson area. Avalanche mitigation work is currently planned for 3am on Monday, February 25.

Travelers should be prepared for any additional road closures regarding Teton Pass, Hoback River Canyon, and the Snake River Canyon in the next several days. Travelers are advised to plan ahead and know what’s open and what isn’t before you go.

Wyoming Department of Transportation has scheduled a closure of WYO22/Teton Pass for tomorrow, Monday, February 25, 2019 at 3 am for avalanche mitigation.

Reduced visibility, winter driving conditions, and increasing avalanche hazard may force an earlier closure. No parking between the Idaho State Line and the closure gate above Wilson will be strictly enforced beginning at 6pm tonight.
