JACKSON, Wyo. — The Jackson Town Council recently approved a contract for simulation traffic analyses on the Snow King Avenue and Gregory Lane corridors to examine potential intersection improvements.

The traffic analyses will examine Snow King Avenue from Flat Creek Drive through Maple Way, and determine the impacts of modified intersection controls at the junctions of Snow King Ave., Scott Lane and Maple Way. The study will also compare travel times along Snow King Ave./Maple Way corridor and the alternate route, Broadway Ave.

The goal of the Snow King Ave./Maple Way analyses is to provide insight into how future traffic flows may be enhanced to ease congestion. the study will also be implemented into future capital construction projects.

The Gregory Lane analyses will examine potential improvement alternatives for the two-way two-lane roadway between High School Road and South Park Loop.

According to the staff report, modifications could include two-way to one-wat flow conversions modified travel lanes, or other geometric or intersection control changes in the vicinity of Gregory Lane.

The study aims to inform the complete street project on Gregory Lane slated for design in the fiscal year 2024 and construction in the fiscal year 2025.

The council approved the contract with Cambrige Systematics, Inc., for $73,134. The town allocated $75,000 for the project in the current fiscal year 2021 budget for the 2014 SPET.

The studies will be completed using existing TransModeler simulation models previously developed by Cambridge Systematics for the town and county.
