JACKSON, Wyo. — The Town Council approved a Workforce Rental Restriction for nine newly built Veronica Lane one-bedroom apartments on Monday, June 17.

The apartment building is located at 235 and 255 Veronica Lane.

According to the Town, the Veronica Lane development restriction complies with the Workforce Housing Floor Area Bonus, ensuring that all nine apartments will function as workforce housing in perpetuity.

In 2021, a building permit was issued for the 36-unit Veronica Lane apartment building and the development team anticipates completion in June. The building’s developer used the Workforce Housing Floor Area Bonus tool to gain 14 unrestricted apartments and nine Workforce restricted apartments, in addition to the 13 unrestricted apartments.

The Town Council meeting agenda says that this residential building aligns with the Town of Jackson’s Comprehensive Plan by providing a variety of housing types, reducing the shortage of affordable housing to the workforce and incentivizing the supply of restricted housing. The Town of Jackson’s Comprehensive Plan has the goal of building denser residential projects in areas that house workforce close to services and jobs.
