The Movement to headline Reggae in the Rockies Sept. 18

ALPINE, Wyo. — Get your tickets now for Reggae in the Rockies – an intimate, outdoor reggae music festival featuring some of the top surf reggae/rock talent in the nation – in Alpine on Sept. 18.

You won’t want to miss headliner The Movement, just south of Jackson at Melvin Brewing.

The Movement has been winning the hearts and minds of alternative-reggae fans since their inception in Columbia, SC in 2003.

Drawing inspiration from Sublime, 311, Slightly Stoopid and John Brown’s Body, they’ve made a name for themselves as reggae shapeshifters with a foundation of heavy drum and bass.

Today the band consists of founding member, lead vocalist and guitarist Joshua Swain, bassist Jason Schmidt, drummer Gary Jackson, and keyboardist/multi-instrumentalist Matt Goodwin.

Their sixth studio album, “Ways Of The World”, dropped on June 7, 2019, debuting at #1 in the Billboard Reggae Chart, and remained in the Billboard Reggae Top 10 for more than 40 consecutive weeks.

The Movement’s new single “Sounds of Summer” feat. Slightly Stoopid was released June 25, 2021 and racked up more than 100k streams in the first 24 hours.

Their seventh full length album is coming Spring 2022.

Other talent taking the stage at Melvin Brewing, include:

  • G Love and the Juice
  • Dan Kelly (from Fortunate Youth) and Zeb (from Tribal Seeds)
  • Artikal Sound System
  • Organically Good Trio

General Admission and VIP ticket options are available, while kids under 12 are free.

If you haven’t danced outside to surf reggae music while surrounded by mountain views, you’re missing out on one of the best experiences the area has to offer.

Free parking is available on site or come for the weekend and enjoy one of the many hotels, campgrounds or off-grid camping nearby.

We value the safety of our guests, the bands, our community, and want to make this an event that proves live music is still an option in these times of COVID. Learn more about what we are doing to make sure the show can go on.
