JACKSON, WY – Free outdoor concert series Summer Sounds is back for its fourth season, featuring local and regional bands.
Center for the Arts and KHOL (Jackson Hole Community Radio) started free outdoor summer music programming in 2021 to bring the community together as COVID restrictions started to ease. The two organizations are excited to continue this tradition and provide more opportunities for the community to gather outdoors to enjoy the season, great live music and each other’s company this summer.
The three Summer Sounds sessions will be held on consecutive Wednesdays after the People’s Market at 7 p.m. in The Center Amphitheater: July 31, August 7 and August 14. Details of each event are below and can be found on The Center’s website.
All three shows are free and tickets are not required. Learn more by clicking the links below for each show.
Inland Isle
Wednesday, July 31 | 7 p.m.
The Center Amphitheater
Inland Isle’s members were bound to find each other in the small – but surprisingly deep – music scene in Jackson, Wyoming. Drawing from indie rock, Americana and chamber pop influences, the band’s songs are anchored by the sometimes introspective, other times incisive lyrics sung by songwriter-guitarist Patrick Chadwick atop lush vocal harmonies.
Hot Pocket
Wednesday, August 7 | 7 p.m.
The Center Amphitheater
Drawing on a wide variety of musical tastes, Hot Pocket is sure to provide something for everyone, performing fun re-imaginings of classic tunes, as well as tried and true renditions of some songs everyone knows by heart. Hot Pocket’s repertoire includes everything from rock staples, including The Allman Brothers Band, The Beatles and Steve Miller Band, jam standards such as Phish and The Grateful Dead, and jazz-funk masters John Scofield and Herbie Hancock. With such a diverse background of musicians and new original music on the horizon, count on Hot Pocket to stoke the party and keep the dance floor movin’ and groovin’ all night long.
Calle Mambo
Wednesday, August 14 | 7 p.m.
The Center Amphitheater
Hard work and dedication to their craft are reasons why Calle Mambo has become not only one of the most sought-after groups in the area, but also the premier Afro-Cuban, Latin and salsa band in the Rocky Mountain region. Calle Mambo blends dance, Latin, rhythm, jazz and salsa for its high-energy shows.
Heavily influenced by the Bay Area Latin jazz and salsa scene, Calle Mambo features music by Pete Escovedo, Wayne Wallace, Tito Puente and the Latin Jazz Allstars, as well as classic Cuban standards and covers of contemporary hits by Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan and the Blackout Allstars.
