Over the course of 90 fascinating and often funny minutes, the one-woman-production presents an intimate portrayal of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a true American original. Set in Ginsburg’s chambers, author Rupert Holmes invites the audience into the intimacy of her life and many trials: losing her mother the day before she graduated as valedictorian of her Brooklyn High School, being one of only nine young women studying law at Harvard while also raising a daughter and helping her husband battle cancer, fighting for women’s rights in the 1970s before condescending all-male courts, and taking courageous stands for human rights as a voice of reason amid a splintering and increasingly politicized Supreme Court.

The Peking Acrobats have spent more than three decades redefining Chinese acrobatics with gravity-defying feats like their famous pagoda of chairs, precision tumbling, contortion, and trick-cycling. Accompanied by live musicians playing traditional Chinese instruments, the performance blends time-honored folk art with high-tech effects for an exuberant evening with the festive spirit of a Chinese Carnival. The company has appeared on major television programs, in the film Ocean’s Eleven, and alongside prestigious symphony orchestras including the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Rooted in centuries of tradition and always pushing toward new technical heights, this is a show that leaves audiences astounded.

Feel, hear, and see the power of the taiko (Japanese drumming). San Jose Taiko has been mesmerizing audiences since 1973 with the powerful, spellbinding, and propulsive sounds of the taiko. Inspired by traditional Japanese drumming, San Jose Taiko performers express the beauty and harmony of the human spirit through the voice of the taiko as they create new dimensions in Asian American movement and music. All compositions performed by San Jose Taiko are written or arranged by members of the group. Composing, choreographing, designing and producing costumes and handcrafting of the drums are part of the holistic process in which all members participate. An exciting performance mixed with contextual dialogue blends entertainment and education for a lively engagement.
