TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — Teton Gravity Research (TGR) presents the world premiere of Magic Hour, its 27th annual ski and snowboard film this Saturday, Sept. 17 at Walk Festival Hall in Teton Village.
TGR invites the Wydaho community to come out and support two local nonprofit organizations at the World Premiere Fundraiser. Proceeds from the event will benefit Coombs Outdoors and the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center. This year’s beneficiaries represent two mission-critical organizations that share TGR’s values and passion for getting outside.
Coombs Outdoor empowers local youth to grow and thrive through outdoor recreation, a passion core to TGR’s athletes and fans. Funds raised for Coombs Outdoors allow the organization to remove barriers to entry and further participation in the outdoor activities, mentorship and community building.
As the comprehensive source for information and data regarding avalanche advisories, avalanche events, weather and snow data for the Bridger-Teton National Forest and our local mountains, the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center (BTAC) is a critical part of TGR’s operations. By supporting BTAC, the organization can continue to raise awareness of and help provide avalanche education to backcountry users throughout the region.
Proceeding the world premiere, locals are invited to the FarOutFest. This action-packed event transforms Teton Village into a community celebration featuring one last weekend of mountain biking, plus live music, food trucks, kids activities and more. The festival is free and open to the public. From 2 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., there’s live music on the main stage featuring DJ ManCat, Sghetti, Marc-Andre Belliveau and the Opskamatrists. Activities include beacon races presented by Mammut and the Avy Center, face painting and athlete posters signing. The TGR Stokemobile will also be on-hand.
Jackson Hole Mountain Resort will reopen the bike park from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. featuring half-price bike park tickets for guests with Magic Hour film tickets. TGR Optics is sponsoring a jump jam at the bike park and Magic Hour film athletes will be riding with fans throughout the afternoon.
The world premiere offers two showings of Magic Hour Walk Festival Hall: 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Film tickets are $20 for general admission with a special discount ($10 tickets) for those ages 16 and under at the early show only.
The Deadlocks will take the stage at the Mangy Moose afterparty. Tickets are $25 per person. Doors open at 9:30 p.m.
As a tradition, TGR will have an abundance of prize giveaways featuring gear and goods from partners such as Sierra Nevada, Polaris, Atomic, Volkl, Mammut, Rab, YETI, Tincup Whiskey and more.
