VICTOR, Idaho — A welcomed sign of summer! The Teton Valley Foundation has announced the 2023 season lineup for Music on Main.
This summer is the 17th season for the popular concert series at Victor City Park every Thursday from 6-10 p.m., June 22-Aug. 10.
June 22
Headliner: John Roberts y Pan Blanco
Opener: Strumbucket
John Roberts y Pan Blanco will take audiences around the world with their eclectic mix and background in funk, soul, salsa and West African rhythms project. With vocals in Spanish, English and Portuguese, this group is melding high-energy funk, African and Latin grooves with soulful instrumental solos, aimed at sharing musical and cultural diversity with the audience.
June 29
Headliner: Paige and the People’s Band
Opener: Rose McCann Band
Paige and the People’s Band are sure to bring a soul-packed experience to the park. The nine-piece, horn-powered act and lead singer Paige Rassmussen’s vocals will shake the corners of downtown as she mixes the traditions of pop and soul with rock and jazz.
July 6
Headliner: Cole and The Thornes
Opener: Chanman with Baldy Dread
Hailing from Montana, Cole and The Thornes, will bring gypsy reggae sounds that waver between ska and funk. Cole’s powerful, sultry vocals and empowering lyrics are accompanied by jazz guitar, island ukulele, Latin-inspired percussion and playful horn melodies.
July 13
Headliner: Chuck Mead
Opener: Sghetti
Chuck Mead, the self-proclaimed country singer with a rock’n’roll heart, will hit the Victor City Park stage. The renowned songwriter, musicologist and producer was a founding member of the country rock band BR5-49.
July 20
Headliner: The Olson Brothers Band
Opener: Young & Musser
A second week of country sounds will be brought by The Olson Brothers Band, brothers Luke and Isaac Olson. Taking cues from Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt, Darius Rucker, Zac Brown, Jason Aldean and Blake Shelton, the guys also enjoy rock’s best anthems from AC/DC to Elton John.
July 27
Headliner: Midnight North
Opener: Ticket to Space
Midnight North, “takes the best parts of roots music and weaves them into a tapestry of rock and Americana,” according to Rolling Stone. The group of multi-instrumentalists includes Grahame Lesh, Elliott Peck, Nathan Graham and Connor O’Sullivan.
Aug. 3
Headliner: Sugaray Rayford
Opener: Kitty and The Cruisers
Sugaray Rayford will headline the first August show in the park, bringing his unique smooth style and a mix of blues and soul.
Aug. 10
Headliner: The Travelin’ McCourys
Opener: The Trap Bar Allstars
The final show of the series will be sure to set the tone for the Targhee Bluegrass Festival, which starts Aug. 11. The Travelin’ McCourys will deliver new and old sounds as they explore bluegrass from every angle.
Music on Main features a variety of local vendors each week serving up delicious food. A suggested donation of $5 helps keep live music a summertime fixture in the community.
