JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton Science Schools is thrilled to invite Wyoming students in grades 4–6 to Ermine, a five-day, four-night spring break program packed with snowy exploration and hands-on science!
Campers will travel across Grand Teton National Park on cross-country skis and snowshoes, uncovering how wildlife thrives in winter, how snow impacts our water, and how scientists study these vital ecosystems. With guidance from an experienced and passionate instructor team, students will conduct their own research, develop new skills, and experience the magic of the mountains in winter.
Week 1 (March 23-27): Snow Science
- Zooming into the Snowpack: Learn how scientists study snow
- Zooming Out: Explore why snow is important in our region
- Research Day: Hands-on experience as snow scientists
- Presentations & Departure: Share findings and wrap up the week
Week 2 (March 30 to April 3): Winter Wildlife
- Migrate to Survive: Study how animals adapt and move in winter
- Resistance: Discover strategies for enduring harsh winter conditions
- Research and Stewardship: Participate in winter research and care for the environment
- Presentations & Departure: Present research and conclude the program
At the end of the program, families and friends are invited to celebrate students’ discoveries during a special research presentation.
TSS wants all students to join this adventure — financial assistance is available to help make the program accessible to everyone. Families can fill out this form to request a scholarship for their student.
