JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Emergency Management will hold free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) basic training events for locals this fall.

CERT basic training will focus on skills necessary for emergency survival, including basic first aid, disaster psychology, fire safety, utility controls, light urban search and rescue operations and more. The course will last for four days, and those who complete training will receive a CERT disaster response kit. They will also be invited to join the Teton County CERT.

The Teton County CERT program provides continuing education, skills practice, team building activities and opportunities for members to deploy to planned events and real-world emergencies in the county.

Community members ages 18 and over can apply. Lunch will be provided each day. Training will consist of classroom lectures, discussion, activities and hands-on skills practice.
