JACKSON, Wyo. — Starting Friday, Deirdre Morris at Teton Behavior Therapy (TBT) will offer a free 5-week online Zoom workshop to help families build “emotional resilience.”

The workshop will aim to give participants understanding of how the nervous system impacts behavior and will teach participants how to “deepen emotional attunement through self-awareness, empathy, and repair” and will focus on emotional regulation and resilience in the family context.

One workshop item will include Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). The principal goal of the therapy “is to re-establish more secure family patterns where attachment and caregiving responses are effective and emotional bonds are repaired.”

Emphasis will be placed on safety and connection between parents and children, and will result in a personalized parenting plan for each participant.

Morris is a Clinical Intern pursuing her degree in Art Therapy and Counseling and is a long time Teton Valley resident and previously an elementary school art teacher. TBT provides mental health counseling for adults, children, and families in Idaho and Wyoming, and provides both in-person and telehealth care.

Participants can register for the series by emailing info@tetonbehaviortherapy.com or calling (307) 734-6040. Workshops will be Fridays, Nov. 7, 14, 21, and Dec. 5 and 12.
