JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) has shared that it rescued two injured snowmobilers from Togwotee Pass on Monday morning.

According to the agency, dispatch received a call at 10:39 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, regarding a snowmobile accident involving two women riding tandem on Togwotee Pass. The women, ages 69 and 70, hit a tree on the Continental Divide Trail.

Serendipitously, the TCSAR helicopter team was already in the area doing short-haul training, allowing them to get to the scene quickly. TCSAR said its volunteers performed two short-haul flights, transporting each woman separately, to waiting ambulances provided by Jackson Hole Fire/EMS and Grand Teton National Park. Togwotee Mountain snowmobile guides also participated in the interagency rescue effort.

“TCSAR appreciates the coordinated efforts of the various agencies involved, and we are sending the women our best wishes for a swift recovery,” TCSAR wrote on Facebook.
