JACKSON, Wyo. — We’re still waiting for the snow to pile up, but there’s no better time to practice your snow skills and even learn new ones.
Teton County Search and Rescue’s most popular class is ramped up and ready. Sponsored by RECCO, What’s In Your Pack is approachable and educational, allowing participants to get hands-on experience with TCSAR volunteers and other local experts about essential backcountry skills. This year, TCSAR is even offering a class for kids and a women’s-specific workshop.
What’s In Your Pack for Kids: Dec. 15. Registration is FREE and comes with a goody bag and pizza dinner.
What’s In Your Pack for Adults: Dec. 16. Registration is $20 and includes snacks and a goody bag from our partners.
What’s In Your Pack for Women: Jan. 4, 2022. Registration is $20 and includes snacks and a goody bag from our partners.
Thanks to RECCO for being a generous partner in our WIYP classes!
TCSAR is also offering a free chance to practice your beacon skills tomorrow, Dec. 14 from 4-6 p.m. Come by the base of Snow King for the season’s first Beacons and Brews .
In partnership with Exum Mountain Guides and Arc’teryx, this free event includes beacon practice, companion rescue skills, and demo’s on how to pack for a day in the backcountry. Plus, our friends at Roadhouse Brewing Co. will be handing out free beer to attendees. Meanwhile, everyone who attends is automatically entered into a prize drawing from Stio in celebration of its 10th Anniversary!
No need to register, just come on out for some beacon practice and good times in the spirit of backcountry safety.
