JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) responded to a snowmobile accident on Togwotee Pass Sunday.

The call came just before noon Feb. 6. Rescuers learned a young man crashed on his snowmobile, and the sled landed on top of him. He had sustained a possible back injury and lost feelings in his extremities.

A helicopter team was sent as the initial response, with a snowmobile team as backup. The helicopter landed near the patient, where he was packaged and loaded into the ship for transfer to a waiting ambulance.

The response included 16 volunteers and an interagency assist from Grand Teton National Park.
