JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) was mobilized on Thursday morning to assist an injured snowmobiler near Ski Lake, the agency announced.
Dispatch received a call at 9:45 a.m about a 27-year-old man from Montana who had injured his leg when his snowmobile rolled on top of him. The party of four snowmobilers had entered the backcountry from the Phillips Bench trailhead.
According to the agency, team members approached the situation via helicopter and via snowmobile. The heli team landed near the accident site and loaded the man onto the helicopter to be transported to a waiting Jackson Hole Fire/EMS ambulance at the TCSAR hangar.
“TCSAR commends the group for being prepared and dialed for emergencies, and for setting up a nice LZ [landing zone] for the helicopter,” TCSAR shared on Facebook.
