Lecture demonstration with Savion Glover at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole

JACKSON, WY— Meet Savion Glover, the insanely talented hoofer and inventive educator, during a free lecture demonstration at Dancers’ Workshop on Saturday, October 13 from 4-5:30pm. Expect an introduction to tap history sprinkled with Savion’s philosophical approach and an off-the-cuff tap demo all in Savion’s humble, personable and thoroughly engaging style. Savion sees the future of tap being driven by today’s youth. So in addition to gracing Dancers’ Workshop with his talents, Savion will also offer outreach at Jackson Hole Middle and High Schools during his fourth visit to Jackson.

It’s only fitting that Savion brings Mark Ingraham, Musical Director and cornet player for Savion Glover Productions, with him for this visit. Savion, a natural born percussive artist, couldn’t resist banging on pots and pans in his mother’s kitchen as a child. Tap lessons at the age of 7 ignited a passion for dance that is still burning today. His approach to tap as an electrifying means of exploring sound directly aligns him with musicians like Mark. The pair will play off each other in a dynamic and fun way.

Last year’s lecture demonstration at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole had audiences talking for weeks. Do yourself a favor and get inspired by the man who redefined the art form of tap.
