JACKSON HOLE, WYO – It’s hard to believe Jackson still does not yet have a permanent community dog park.

After enjoying a few years at a site now currently home to The Grove affordable housing, a dog park in Jackson has yet to become a reality.
Over the past decade, it’s been talked about in about 20 places including next to the town parking garage (but that was then used for Vertical Harvest), in the grassy arena at the fairgrounds (but that is needed for rodeo and fair activities), and converting an existing park to dog exclusive.
A recent long-range master plan compiled by Jackson/Teton County Parks and Rec found dog parks were one of the top three priorities identified by survey-takers. As a result, Parks and Rec would like to hear more from the public about an off-leash space in May Park for families with dogs as part of its strategic plan.
PAWS of Jackson Hole will be facilitating an open house November 27, from 5:30-7:30pm at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole.
