Bondurant, WY \u2014 Team Rubicon, a veteran-led disaster response organization, launched a four-day flood mitigation operation beginning Friday, July 19 in Hoback Ranches, WY.\r\n\r\nThe 2018 Roosevelt Fire left the area prone to flash flooding and erosion from the rain as well as snow-melt in the spring and summer. In coordination with local and state authorities, Team Rubicon volunteers will assist flood mitigation and chainsaw operations in an effort to prevent flooding. This project is part of continuing coordinated efforts with the Sublette Unified Fire Protection District and the Sublette County Office of Emergency Management\r\n\r\n\u201cWe are humbled to have the opportunity to serve this community while developing long-lasting relationships with residents, emergency management officials, and local community leaders,\u201d said Carey Norman, Operation Hoback Comeback Incident Commander. \u201cWe would like to thank the community of Hoback Ranches and particularly the Bondurant Fire Department for their hospitality during the operation.\u201d\r\n\r\n\u201cThe veterans who come to Hoback Comeback have served their country and their community, we couldn\u2019t be happier to help honor their service by expanding this organization\u2019s way to serve more veterans.\u201d\r\n\r\nTeam Rubicon boasts a 100,000-strong, highly skilled volunteer force that helps communities stabilize and recover after a devastating natural disaster.
