JACKSON, WY— It’s a new chapter for the Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Joint Powers Board, and sustainability is the focus.
As Jackson grapples with a possible plastic bag ban on the horizon, the JHTTB, along with its advertising agency Colle McVoy, will introduce a reusable alternative Wednesday, September 12 at Whole Grocer. The effort is part of the TTB’s newest phase of the STAY WILD campaign, which will include sustainability initiatives targeted toward visitors and locals alike.
“In anticipation of a potential plastic bag ban in Teton County, the Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board wanted to assist in town and county efforts to reduce plastic, but also educate visitors on the valley’s sustainable initiatives,” a press release from the TTB said.
Join members of the Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board Wednesday at 8 a.m. to learn more about the STAY WILD winter campaign and its sustainability initiatives, including a new STAY WILD canvas grocery bag that will be gifted to anyone who attends. Bags will also be given to visitors as they deplane at the Jackson Hole Airport.
The bag includes a detailed illustration by local artist Tim Tomkinson on various activities and amenities in our valley, along with a rally cry to visitors and locals to Keep Jackson Hole Wild to ensure that its wonder never fades.
Other campaign initiatives include signage placed at the airport and a website that outlines the priorities and sustainable efforts currently taking place in our valley. Look for more campaign elements to come later this year.
Please RSVP to attend the event by emailing Kate at lodgingtax@tetoncountywy.gov.
